Super Crawler!

Ellie is almost 9 months now! She crawls like a maniac! She is actually pulling herself to a standing position, if she has something stable to grab on too. She will take off crawling, then quickly go into a sitting position, and then take off again. With this new advancement, she wants to get into everything!

She is also a human vacuum cleaner! She finds the tiniest things on the floor. I was letting her crawl on the floor in the back during our Sunday school class and with-in 6 ft, I had collected about 8 items in my hand, fuzz, a small confetti paper, 1/4Th of a cheerio, something sticky, more confetti paper, half of a gummy bear... I think our church needs to vacuum better :)

I have also realized, that I am a little scared to have her play next to other kids her age. She was next to my friends baby, and he is 2 months older then her, and also bigger then her too! I'm sure he was curious, he reached over and started grabbing her hair, and then starting hitting her on the side of her head. Of course I picked her up right away, I don't know about other people, but naturally I wanted to protect her! I didn't want her to get hurt. I realized that that was an awkward situation for me. What are you suppose to do? She was fine though, she was like "what ARE you doing?" and it was probably an early form of; when a young boy likes a girl, and pulls her hair. :)

Ellie

Just wanted to update everyone about Ellie. Ellie is now 5 1/2 months old and a joy in our house. So here are the current stats, she is sitting up, rolling over, " playing dead" just kidding, smiling, giving hugs, and getting tickled. The winnie the pooh bear also receives lots of love from Ellie. Last of all she loves sweet potatoes.

Did you say... G-G-G-Ghost?!!!!

So I went on a paranormal tour with two of my friends from church Amanda and Austin Green. We went to the Historic Union Station in Ogden, Built in the late 1800's, but then partially burnt down in1923, and then was rebuilt. We had real paranormal investigators guiding the tour. We were led through the station, kind of now a museum and banquet hall, in the dark. Along our journey, the guide and some people asked questions to the ghosts, we would then wait, and watch the EMF readers light up. I guess they measure Electromagnetic fields in the room. We got to go down into the vaults, which is where they kept gold and high value items.. They mostly keep parts of them closed to the public, but they had them open, it was pretty cool to see. This was a fun adventure for Halloween :)

Geocaching!

So Trent and I started geocaching! What is that?! Well, here is a pretty good description from Wikipedia:

Geocaching is an outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers (tupperware or similar) or ammo boxes can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek," sharing many aspects with benchmarking, trigpointing, orienteering,treasure-hunting, letterboxing, and waymarking.

Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica.^[1]After 10 years of activity there are over 1.2 million active geocaches published on various websites devoted to the activity.

We did our first geocache the first week of November. Besides what they mention above, they also have containers called "micro" containers, as small as a little film canisters or a magnetic box that holds keys, etc. We chose our first one at the Ogden Union station. On the site, or app, cause we use our phones, we can choose one we want to do, which there are tons in Ogden!

We look at the info, usually they give you a clue you have to decipher, to help locate the cache, which is way fun, but then I found out my geocache phone app, automatically deciphers it for me. Well the first one, we had to decipher, which I figured out right away, and we got the pretty much the exact location! Well we looked and looked, but we couldn't find it. They usually will rate them 1-5 on how hard they hid it, it was a 1.5, but we still couldn't find it. Well tried another one after that, but we couldn't find that one either. As we went back to the info of the caches, it said if your a first timer, don't try the micros, cause those will be hard, which they both were micros.

Well the next one we try, will be a bigger one so we can feel like we actually accomplished it. Oh, when you find the caches, you cant take it with you. You find it, open it, log it, then put it back exactly how you found it, or you can replace it with something else of equal or greater value.

We decided any time we go on a vacation, we are going to search for a cache. We are planning on going to Wisconsin next spring, so we are planning on doing one then. It is way fun, like a treasure hunt! I will post a pic of the next cache we find!

Birth of Ellie- Part 2

I pretty much slept through the whole C-section and an hour and a half afterwards. After the C-section was done, they took the baby to get cleaned up and had Trentgo with the baby, he was unsure about leaving my side, but eventually went with Ellie.

So Trent sat with Ellie for a bit then pushed the cart to me in the recovery room, of course I was still sleeping so they decided to wait and not wake me. About another 45 minutes later, they came back to me and I started to wake up, not from being put under but just from being so tired!!! As soon as I did, Trent asked of I wanted to see Ellie, Yes!!!!! I finally got to see and hold my baby girl! She was so sweet, little and so darn cute!

Finally we got to go to our room, where we didn't leave until Tuesday, 5 days later! We decided to keep Ellie in the nursery mostly at night so I could get sleep, but it was so fun to have her with us during the day, of course having to feed her every 3 hours. Saturday, the next day, we had family come and visit, I was so out of it cause I took some narcotics for my surgery, but it was so nice to see visitors as weird as i was feeling.

On that Saturday, Trent went to change Ellie's diaper for the first time and he got the "tar" diaper, well she started to cry and cry, being it was a longer and harder diaper to clean up, and then she had spit up and it went back into her mouth and nose, and she couldn't breathe! we quickly got a nurse in there and the nurse rushed her to the nursery to clean her up and take care of her, and of course Trent quickly went with her to make sure she was all right! I really wanted to jump out of bed and rush to her rescue but was not able to being still sore, and so, helplessly, I watched and waited and just sat there and bawled! Finally Trent came back and said that she was now just fine. What an emotional moment! Luckily our Pediatrician just happen to be there so he checked on her after, to make sure she was ok and he came in and said next time anything like that happens just lay her, stomach down, and pat her back.

Well after that Everything seem to be going well, and she did have to lay under the Jaundice light from 5pmSunday till 4 or 5 am Monday morning. After that, she was much better and the doctor said he was really impressed how fast and better from jaundice she got in a short time!

Over all, we seem to be doing well and by Tuesday we got to go home! It was very nice to be at home, but yet I was kind of like "now what do we do" but just followed the routine from the hospital.

Welcome little one!

How Ellie came into this world, C-section! OK, So Ellie was born at 7lbs 13oz, was 20 inches long and was born at 3:58 pm on June 25th, 2010.

My story, I went to the hospital on June 24th at 8pm to get induced since i was already 5 days late. At 9pm they started induction, by 1:00 am I was begging for an epidural, by 6:45 am, my doctor broke my water. I was moving right along until my body stopped at 7cm! Well around 12-ish (time starts to get fuzzy) My epidural ran out, they went to call the epidural guy, and he was in a surgery, so I ended up waiting over an hour for him to come in and re-boot me, of course my contractions were pretty painful. I was having Trent rub my back, apparently he was putting his whole body into it even though I couldn't tell if he was even touching me. ouch times a million! When I finally got on top of my pain, by clicking the little button every 5 minutes to give me more juice, but then it stopped for a while cause the machine didn't want me to overdose myself. It ran out again, so they called the guy back, but again, he was in another surgery, so I had to wait over an hour again. I cant begin to describe the pain, so I wont even try. (Any ladies reading this who have not had children yet, don't worry, everyone is different, you will not have the same experience!) Well the epidural guy ended up redoing the needle in my back, to get it working from another direction, by this time, my doctor decided to do a C-section, because I was still stuck at 7cm and it is around 3-ish now. So now I get some shots that work tons faster and now no pain at all! Yes! Well they have too now since they are cutting into me! Well they get me ready for the surgery, and I'm pretty much passing out cause I'm exhausted! I was told during the surgery, I started snoring, the doctor stops for a second looks over and says "Is she snoring? Well I guess she is all right then!" and the nurses chuckle. ....to be continued.....

Getting ready for the baby!

Ok, it has been a while, oops, sorry:) Well I am now 35 weeks along and getting anxious to have the baby. We have 2 classes left of our birthing class, and let me just say, new expecting moms- it is totally worth it!!! Last week we got a tour of the maternity ward and got to see the rooms I would be in when I have the baby. We also saw the nursery and saw a very beautiful baby girl! Which just made me even more excited to meet my daughter. :)

So far our baby room is getting their. We have mostly all the big items, which is great. I found some awesome deals on KSL, A Bassett Baby dresser for only $65!!! They usually run about $300. When we got it home, Trent sanded it and restained it. It looks georgious! I also found a changing table that was bought a few years ago from USA baby for $235 and got it for only $45! It is solid and no scratches and matches the Dresser, Yay! Of course the crib was purchased for me, Thanks you guys (you know who you are!) And of course from a couple baby showers, I got lots of stuff! We will still have to do a small shopping spree to get the last few items needed. The biggest thing I notice most is, because i am having to buy stuff for my child, not for me or anybody else, i want to get EVERYTHING! Their is definitely that eternal love that is so strong, it makes you want to be a better person!

Well now that my pregnancy is almost done, it is fun to feel the baby move, because sometimes its little and sometimes I feel like there is a tornado in my belly. It's pretty funny when Trent feels the baby, because when she is going at it, Trent will look at me all wide eyed, like holy cow! Then i am like, hey thats normal to me! There were a few times I had a cat sitting on my lap, leaning against my belly and my baby kicked the cat. The cat will whip her head around and look at my belly, thinking what was that? and then sniff it out to find the source. :) Pretty funny moments.
